Dr. Pooja Dutta is a dedicated and compassionate General & Laparoscopic Surgeon committed to providing advanced, minimally invasive surgical care with a patient-first approach at Nix Hospital. She focuses on accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment planning, safe surgical procedures, and comprehensive peri-operative care to help patients experience reduced postoperative discomfort, smaller incisions, faster recovery, and a smoother return to their daily lives.

She completed her M.S. in General Surgery in India, where she developed a strong foundation in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of surgical conditions. During her general surgery training, she developed a keen interest in advanced laparoscopic and gastrointestinal (GI) procedures, which motivated her to pursue further specialized training in this field.

Dr. Pooja Dutta is currently working as a Fellow in Gastrointestinal, Minimal Access, and Bariatric Surgery, where she is actively involved in patient evaluation, assisting and performing minimally invasive surgical procedures, and providing comprehensive peri-operative management. Her fellowship has helped her further develop her technical skills and gain valuable exposure to advanced laparoscopic, gastrointestinal, and bariatric surgical techniques.

Known for her hardworking, disciplined, and learning-oriented approach, Dr. Pooja Dutta believes that effective communication is an essential part of quality healthcare. She takes the time to understand patients' concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and maintain a supportive relationship with patients and colleagues.
